Your wheel choices

The wheel runs in your browser. Entered choices, colors, and named wheel saves are stored in your browser’s local storage under custom-decision-wheel:v1 (creator) and custom-decision-wheel:names:v1 (name picker). We do not send your choices or results to our server or analytics services. Choices enter a URL fragment only when you create a share link or choose an internal reuse link; results and saved-wheel names are excluded. Recent results are kept in memory for the current visit and clear when the page reloads.

What is remembered

Your own current wheel is remembered automatically after you update it. Shared wheels load for the current visit and do not replace your remembered wheel until you choose Keep or save them. No-repeat round progress is not stored; a reload begins a fresh round from the starting configuration. Games run only for the current visit. You can also save up to ten named wheels. These saves are specific to this browser and device. They do not sync to the mobile app, other browsers, or other devices. Someone else using this browser can access its saved wheels.

Sharing and JSON files

Sharing is optional. A generated link or exported JSON file contains every applied entry, color, and the no-repeat setting. Anyone who receives it can read or modify the configuration. Encoding is not encryption. Share links hold the data after #wheel=, which is not sent in normal HTTP requests. Internal reuse links carry the same local fragment between tools. The incoming fragment is removed from that tab’s address after it is read. Do not include sensitive lists in links or files.

Import is unavailable in this first release. Named saves, selected results, and recent history are not included in exports or links. A copy does not update when the original is edited. The how-it-works page explains formats and limits.

Removing saved data

Delete named wheels using the trash button inside “Save it for another day.” To remove all current and named wheel data, clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings. Clearing browser data, private browsing, or storage limits can remove or prevent saves. Reset wheel restores the sample choices; it does not delete named saves.

Analytics and hosting

Optional Google Analytics is off until you accept it. Acceptance loads Google’s tag and analytics cookies for page visits and app-store clicks. We send static page paths/titles and fixed store/placement labels, not wheel choices, names, results, query strings, shared fragments or private referrer paths. Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details; this is not anonymous browsing. Advertising signals and personalization are disabled, and Enhanced Measurement is off. An app-store click is not an install. Use Analytics choices or Turn analytics off in the footer to change your choice. Turning it off removes the analytics frame, stops future collection and clears this site’s prefixed analytics cookies; it cannot retract data already sent. Wheel saves are preserved. Your consent choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. If browser storage is blocked, the choice lasts for this visit. Cloudflare hosts the public website and processes requests to deliver and protect it, which can include IP addresses, request URLs, and browser information. That hosting traffic does not contain the choices you type into the wheel. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data from partner sites. App Store and Google Play buttons take you to those services. Their policies apply there. The mobile app has its own privacy policy and store disclosures; this website’s local-only saves do not describe the app’s data practices.
